Feel Good Friday - My Blog Crush

I'd like to tell you about my blog crush.
The blog that I always look for and read first when I log into my dashboard.
It makes me feel good every single time I read it. Without fail. No matter what mood I'm in.
It's called Enjoying the Small Things and is written by Kelle Hampton.

She is a wife and mother. A mother of two beautiful little girls. Lainey and Nella.

Kelle has a gift for blogging.
She takes THE BEST photos and includes loads of them in every post, but her writing is what really draws you in.
She is open and honest and funny and shares her life and the loves of her life with us all.
Her writing style is really creative and lets you feel what she is feeling.

She loves her girls furiously.
She is very present for them and is determined to give them the best life and the best of her that she can.

Nella is the reason I smile and sometimes giggle when I see the amazing photos that Kelle takes of her family.
There is just something so very special about Nella.
She is magical.
Without knowing it or trying to, she brightens up so many peoples day.

She ALWAYS makes my day!
Look at her! How can you not fall in love with that little face?!

Then there's Lainey.
Sweet, adorable Lainey.

Do yourself a huge favour and spend some time reading through Kelle's blog.
You'll leave feeling really good!
You'll leave feeling inspired to live the best life you can live.
You'll leave wanting to love those around you furiously and selflessly.

Seriously. Just do it!

Teacups and Graffiti - Winter Trees

All the leaves are brown...

And the air is crisp and clear.

Trees are bare.

I'm a huge fan of winter.

Bring it!

But bring it with some sunshine...please.

Blogger Bungle or User Error?

She's the cutest thing in the world to me!

I just want to let you all know that I'm having a bit of trouble leaving comments on some of your posts. Those of you who DON'T have a pop up window for comments are the blogs that Google won't let me comment on.
Now, if you would be so kind as to change your comment settings so that you have a pop up window AND not have that word verification on, then I'd be most obliged and you will be getting comments from me.

Why oh why did Blogger have to muck around with stuff?
It was all fine before they went and did some maintenance.

Maybe I should clear my browser and cookies.
Would that help my problem? (that's a loaded question if I ever saw one)

Snippets of Sunday - Chilly Smoke

I smell like smoke. NO! I haven't been smoking, I've just been standing near a fire.
My darling decided to burn the great pile of rose bush clippings that I had made a few months ago. Let me just say, I've been asked oh so politely not to do that again.
I won't. I promise!

Anyway, today is a clear, sunny, windy and very cold day. Having this fire burning on such a winters day made me feel nostalgic. I was transported right back to the years I spent as a kid, growing up on 13 acres in the bush. Riding pushbikes. Riding motorbikes. Roaming the bush in search of some mischief to get up to.

I loved Sunday afternoons in winter out there. The trees casting long shadows early in the afternoon. There was usually the echo of a chainsaw happening somewhere on a neighbouring propery. Sometimes it was the sound of Dad using the chainsaw or even the tractor to mow the grass.
And there was always the smell of smoke. Be it from our chimney or from Dad or a neighbour burning off.
Yep, this afternoons mix of chill in the air and smell of smoke took me right back to that carefree time of my life.

It's no wonder some people live in the past.
Nostalgia is a powerful emotion.
I think I'm just going to stay there for the rest of today.

Feel Good Friday - Upside Down

I'd not heard of her before this week, but I'm so very glad I found her.
Her name is Paloma Faith and she is fun, quirky and just my kind of noise.

A british singer who is who she is and clearly is not afraid to be a little 'upside down'.

While watching a rather cute, yet completely predicable movie called Chalet Girl, this song was played while the leading lady was learning to snow board. I immediately loved it and grabbed the iPhone and used my favourite app, Shazam, to find out what the song was and who sings it.

Well, I have been listening to the album all week. The kids even like it. Monkey makes me play 'Upside Down' over and over and over again and we're still not sick of it.

If you don't jump up and dance, or tap your foot or move some part of your body while listening to this song then I'm afraid to tell you that you are dead. D.E.D. Dead!

Wanna hear it???

Here 'tis then...Upside Down

This is music for the ears, not music for the eyes.

Have a very fun weekend!
