I've always loved the title of the movie, "Being John Malkovich". It's a very satisfying three words. Try saying it out loud. Is your mouth satisfied? I've only seen the movie once. I don't really remember any of it, but I do remember that I thought it was quite left of centre, a bit like John himself, no doubt. I think he's a brilliant actor and to be a brilliant actor you have to be slightly nuts. Well that's my opinion on the matter.
Anyway, what I'm trying to tell you is that this is how I chose the name for this blog. It would actually sound heaps better if I used my whole name because there are more syllables and my last name rhymes with Malkovich, but due to me being a rather private person I decided to just go with plain old Ky. I should add that Being Ky is easy. I just have to be myself. Being John Malkovich may be a little more complicated.

A Ladder and a Plank
Late in the afternoon, not long before the sun goes down is not an ideal time to be taking photos. The light just isn't that great, BUT, when these two are getting up to a bit of mischief the photos just have to be taken, regardless.
We don't have a slide in the backyard, well we didn't until now.
This plank of wood has been used in numerous activities such as a jump for the bike and scooter(that was hilarious, let me tell you!), a ramp for toy monster trucks, a ramp for the skateboard and for rolling balls down.
Today it is a slide. Yay!
Cheeky Monkey!!!!!
AND if you draw on it with the sidewalk chalk....well, below is the result.
I love their mischief!
Happy days!!!

T&G Tuesday - Acland St, St Kilda
Today's photo post is not about great photography, but about having some fun.
I did try to take some truly great shots, but it's always difficult when the Monkey is non stop action.
Sometimes that in itself makes for some great shots, but today, I was distracted by his energy.
There was soooo MUCH energy!
We found some graffiti art hidden away behind the shops.
Creepy!
There was even footpath art.
These two goons stopped for a few seconds to pose for me.
There were cakes in the windows....so many cakes!
See? He doesn't stop!
Probably the best book store I know of.
She wanted to buy lots of books.
He just wanted me to take photos of him being an airplane.
We had a great time at Acland St today!

Snippets of Sunday - Old Churches Rock!
Note the raindrop smudge towards the top of the church.
I had a little time out by myself today.
It doesn't happen often enough, but what can one do when hubby works a lot and there's no family near by to help with the kids?
On my way to my favourite markets, I stopped at this church on Riversdale Rd and took some photos. I've been wanting to do this for so long now, but I've always got someone else with me.
I braved the icy, cold wind and wandered around the church, taking photos and trying to ignore the discomfort that the cold was causing to my ungloved hands.
It's such a beautiful church with it's large bluestone bricks and gothic style arches and steeple.
I would have loved to go inside, but the divine service was already in progress and I was on a mission to check out the goods at the markets.
Maybe next time.

T&G Tuesday - Instagram
Have you discovered the Instagram app for smart phones yet?
I have.
I LOVE it!
These photos are some of the pics I have posted on my Instagram feed.
They aren't all edited in Instagram.
I also use the PhotoWizard and DynamicLight apps to edit photos that I've taken with my iPhone and then add them to Instagram.
If you are wondering what Instagram is, well, it's a photo sharing app. You can follow other Instagramers from all over the world.
It's really fun seeing how other people use editing apps.
I'd love to know if you are an Instagramer.
FYI, my Instagram user name is 'pikchik'...just saying.
