Preparations for a Tea Party

My Angel is turning 6 on Thursday and to celebrate I am throwing her a garden tea party next weekend. I'm having a bit of fun preparing for it. I have the vision in my head how I want it to all look.

This morning we went to the Camberwell Markets with the intention of sourcing supplies for the party. I'd already bought a few things from op shops on Friday.
We found these feather boas in a box for 50 cents each.

These serviettes and doilies will be turned into bunting. It will be my first time making bunting, but I've been given instructions from the ever clever Georgina on how to make it.

The boas and feather head pieces.

We found a lot of beads for the girls to wear during the party.
One stall holder gave Angel the crown for her to wear for the party. So sweet of her.

This tea set will of course be used. I bought it at the Chapel St Bazaar on Friday.

It's made in Japan, so of course it wasn't expensive.

I'm just throwing this photo in to show you the head piece and little jacket I got for 50 cents a piece. They are such great dress ups box additions. She loves them and has worn them a lot today. She's wearing them right now in fact.

So, stay tuned for more tea party preparations and then photos after the event.
Of course, and you already know this, this party is actually mine, not hers. Lol!

Sprung!

Look what I caught his little, chicken poxed self doing yesterday.

Yep, both the kids have the chicken pox. A mild case. They were both immunised as toddlers so they don't have them bad. Just the spots. No fever. No itching. Just spots with the same amount of energy as usual. It's more painful for me as we are housebound til the contagious stage is over. Hopefully, that will be tomorrow!

Asleep at the Hairdresser

Yes, he does stop. It's like he has an on/off switch. One minute he's causing more destruction than a tornado and the next he's out, like he's just been put under general anesthetic.

Surprisingly, it happened at the hairdressers yesterday.
Have you ever seen anyone fall asleep while having their hair cut?

The hairdresser and I giggled and tried to wake him when she had finished. He only stirred when she blow dried his hair. I had to carry him around the shops for the next 20 minutes while he kept sleeping.
He gets really heavy!
He woke up just as we were going back to the car and asked, "But what about my haircut?".
You've already had it, Son.

My Photography Blog

I have been inspired by The Clip Cafe who has a photography blog called Flower Photography. It's a 365 project blog. I wasn't aware that so many people do this, but it seems there are heaps of 365 project blogs out there. Anyway, I've started one today.

I've called it Teacups and Grafitti because I take photos of both those things and everything in between. Plus I think it's a really cool name. (Does saying cool show my age?)

I will post a different photo that I have taken, every day of the year.
I will challenge myself to get better and gain new photography skills.

Today is the first day for my new blog and it is also the 1st Birthday for communal global!

Happy Birthday Communal Global! I look forward to see what you have for us girls in the next 12 months.

My Baby Boy

I know I put this photo up in a recent post, but I'm giving it it's own post because I love it so much.
Maybe because I love the little person in this photo more than I can express in words.

Maybe I love this photo so much because he held onto his daddy's hand the whole time he was in the water.
Maybe I love this photo cos that face is just so darn cute!
All I know is that I really love this photo.

I'm linking to this weeks i heart faces photo challenge.
