Thrifty Finds and a Jigsaw Puzzle

This vintage photo was one of my two purchases from The Vintage Shed last Friday. I'm not sure why I had to have it, but it just really appealed to me and now it is displayed amongst other stuff on the dresser in the 'toy room'. I am a huge fan of sepia and black & white photos. It's in such great nick too.

That little ceramic owl is vintage too. It was given to me on my 10th birthday.
I can't believe that I'm old enough now that stuff that was around when I was a kid is now considered vintage.
When did the '80's become vintage?
Where did that time go???

A shocking photo of a small, bevel mirrored frame, found at an op shop, yesterday. I just love it!
This photo doesn't show it's true beauty, but I had trouble taking a decent photo of it this morning.
*note to self* camera flash and mirrors don't go together.

Found at the same op shop, a large, retro pot. In very, very good condition. I was tossing up the idea to give it to a friend of mine who is really into retro, but as soon as hubby spied it that idea went out the window.

It's so fun and a little frustrating doing jigsaw puzzles with my offspring. She's rather good at it. He's just impatient.
This is what we did this morning while I was having my cuppa.
It's a great bonding activity that we all enjoy.

The finished product! One hundred pieces, connected.
She wants to try a one thousand piece puzzle, but I just don't think she's got the patience for that yet.

I'll be playing dress ups tomorrow night for a friends 40th.
Can you guess what I'm going as?

Well, I'm off to take my 'happy pill'. The alarm on my phone is going off to remind me to take it.
My darling husband set it up so he didn't have to call me every morning to remind me to take it. I'm a shocker at remembering to take pills and this one is very important for me to take.
You'd laugh if you could hear this alarm. It's one of those warning alarms, you know, like you see in the movies when there is a fire or intruder alert, or something like that. It's relentless until someone turns it off.

Anyway, better go take it and get on with my day.

The Vintage Shed

Friday saw a friend and I head on down to Tyabb to check out The Vintage Shed.
I'd been wanting to go there for a while now and when Ms G was here in Feb, we almost did, but then worked out that we wouldn't have much time to spend there, so we decided not to tease ourselves by only having a rushed visit.

What a rush it is just walking into this place!

First, we checked out the Vintage Emporium. Clothes! So many clothes! All sorts from different decades.
It was mind boggling. We spent ages browsing through the racks and checking out shoes and accessories. It would be very easy to spend hundreds of dollars here.

We finally moved on to the big shed.
Wow!
So much stuff!!!

This pic is for you, Mum. It's just like Kate's cabinet! This wasn't the only one I saw either. There were a few others, but this one looked the most like Kate's.
I AM inheriting Kate's cabinet, aren't I, Mum???

Anyone need a crystal clock?

How divine is that cabinet in the left of this picture? Just gorgeous!

I'm not usually in the habit of taking photos of old cisterns, but that's my BIL's name.
Made me giggle anyway.

I really would have taken this massive, wood trunk home, but I didn't have the dollars for it.
No matter, I don't really have the room for it either. Although, it would make a fabulous toy box.

I have more photos, but didn't want to bore you too much with them all.
I really wished I'd taken a photo of the retro table and chairs that my friend, Ms N, bought. She was so very excited to find them and at a VERY reasonable price too. In great condition AND her hubby was into it too after she sent him a photo on the phone. So cool that he loves retro like she does!

We had fun! Plain and simple.

Go check it out for yourself if you haven't already. You'll love browsing.

When Ms G Was Here

Ya'll know I love her.
Some of you know that we got to hang mid February.
I just came across this photo and thought I'd put it out there. After all, Ms G did mention our outings on her blog.
She's a Melbourne girl at heart. I just know it!
I just wish she'd move here.

Here we are, having a cuppa at the Camberwell Markets.
If you click here, you can see what Ms G has been up to lately.

She'd love to hear from you.

More Music

Once again I am having computer issues. I think this time though, I'm going to dig a hole under the lemon tree in the backyard and bury my pc. She's kaput!
So, that means that I only have hubby's computer to use and that also means I will be in blogland less.
I'm actually contemplating taking a six month sabbatical from unnecessary internet use. It will be good for my head space and for the state of this house. Trust me!

Anyway, the weekend is upon us...yay!
Thought I'd send you off with a couple of songs to get you through.

Mum, you'll love this one! ;)
Or not.
Superchick rocks!

The next one is by Third Day. I love his voice!

Have an awesome weekend bloggy friends!
