Elevensies In The Sunshine

It was the most beautiful, sunny day yesterday. A cool breeze blew and we still had to wear a jacket, but the sun was just glorious!
Monkey and I had elevensies outside, in the sunshine, together. I drank black, Lady Grey tea, while he ate bikkies.
I sat and looked out at the appalling state of my back yard. It's very hard to get motivated to do something about the lawn and garden when it's cold and grey so much. I do really enjoy the cold weather, but I think I must concede and admit that it is time for a lot of spring sunshine to lift my mood and motivate me to make something pretty out of this weedy, overgrown yard.
I need lots of fast growing herbs and pretty flowers in the garden to make sitting out the back a most joyous event.
Lots of colour, loads of green and a beautifully manicured lawn.
I NEED it!
So c'mon spring! Give me some sunshiny days...more than one in a row!!!

Wrought Iron and Stone

Burwood Cemetary. Row after row after row after row of grey.
I like this kind of grey. Have always liked cemetaries. They are peaceful, historic, artistic.
A quiet place to go and think.

A place to appreciate beautiful craftsmanship.

A place where the artists are weather and time.

There is no more pain, only peace.

Husbands and wives sleep peacefully, side by side.

Statues of angels guard their tomb.

Some headstones have been here so long that they can no longer stand up straight.

Wrought iron fences keep them away.

A warrior is long remembered.

His wife lies with him.

Nothing in this world lasts forever.

We are ALL mortal, regardless of whether we think we are or not.

There is a hope that someday soon those who gave their heart to Him will rise from these graves.

They will be given a new body that is perfect and free from sin...forever!

The Giant Book of Space

This little dude is becoming quite the little op shopper himself.
Sorry Son.

He ALWAYS finds something that intrigues him and keeps him occupied while I browse. He spotted this book a couple of days ago while I was browsing the book section. He loves anything to do with space, especially the moon. This was one of his finds that I said yes to buying for him. It was only $2. How could I say  no? He was so excited about this purchase.  He carried this book up to the counter on his head, stopping to show other shoppers his space book. So funny!

I LOVE him!!!
